Dear AICE/AP students and parents:

 

The AICE/AP Exam schedule has been finalized. Students will receive passes for each exam they are scheduled to take. Teachers will be informed of AICE/AP student’s absence(s) from their class(es). 

 

Your student has received a letter containing his/her AICE/AP exam(s) schedule. Please understand it is vital for your student to be at his/her required exam on the designated date and to be on time; there are no retakes for AICE/AP exams. If your student is a “no show” for an exam, he/she will be required to pay the fee for the exam and your student will not receive the weighted credit for the AICE/AP course. This includes all exams scheduled after the date of graduation. Exams designated with an asterisk (*) require the exam fee of $87.00 to be paid no later than May 15, 2012. Checks should be made payable to BDHS with exam notation in the memo line.

Expectations regarding attendance during testing

Please understand students coming and going during testing is distracting and results in additional stress on students, limiting their ability to stay focused and thus hindering them from doing their best on high-stakes exams. Therefore, students may only be released between exam/transition times. No student (including those with early release) will be dismissed/released during an exam block. Students who wish to request an early dismissal following testing must present a note to the Attendance Office before 7:15 AM on the day of the dismissal. Because permission for an early dismissal can only be extended after verbal verification by a parent/guardian, failure to submit a note in a timely manner may result in delayed release due to the volume of requests.  Notes must include a parent/guardian signature, the student’s full name, the release time, the reason, and a phone number to be used for verifying the authenticity of the note. Students must show the early dismissal pass to their teacher AND sign out of the Attendance Office prior to leaving the building.
